How the CSAT is worked out
People rate one thing, such as a support chat or a delivery, from 1 to 5.
- Count the answers that are a 4 or a 5. Those people were satisfied.
- Divide that count by all answers.
- Multiply by 100 to get a percent.
A worked example
230 customers rated their support chat. 172 gave a 4 or a 5.
- 172 divided by 230 is 0.7478.
- Multiply by 100 and round: 74.78%.

How to read your score
The score runs from 0% to 100%. Higher means a bigger share were satisfied.
CSAT works best right after a moment, such as a closed ticket. Compare it with your past scores for the same moment and read the comments. For how the scale and the number of answers change the result, see customer satisfaction score: how to calculate it.
