How to use this template
- Pick one task. Choose one task, such as a first setup, an export or a refund.
- Paste and fill in the brackets. Write your company name and the task in the brackets.
- Send it right after. Ask as soon as the task ends, in your app or by email.
- Average the answers. Add up the scores and divide by the number of answers. Answers of 7, 6, 6, 5 and 4 give a CES of 5.6. Read the reasons from low scorers.
Tips for better answers
Ask about one task at a time. "Importing your list" points to one screen. "Using our product" does not.
Ask right after the task. Memory of effort fades fast.
Compare scores by task and fix the lowest first.
Pair CES with "What made it harder than it should have been?" The answer says what is hard.
