One is a survey tool, the other is a feedback program

SurveyMonkey is a general survey tool. It lists more than 400 templates, with use cases from event feedback and registration forms to market research and NPS 6. You write a survey, send a link, and read the results. It has an NPS template with a built-in calculator 2.

Pulseri is narrower. It collects feedback again and again from People you know. It keeps the list, picks the moment, leaves a gap before it asks the same person again, and tells your team when a score is low. You can do much of that in SurveyMonkey with patience. This page shows where the work moves to you.

How SurveyMonkey charges you

Team plans are priced per user, with a minimum of 3 users. Each plan includes a yearly allowance of responses, and each response above it has its own charge. Enterprise has no published price and starts with a demo 1.

A bigger team of researchers costs more. A program that works well can run past its allowance, so a good year costs more than a quiet one. On the free plan you can view only a limited number of responses per survey, and older responses over that limit are deleted if a paid plan ends 5. Export your results before you change plans.

What Pulseri costs

Pulseri counts People, the customers and team members you choose to track. Every answer is included, so a high response rate never raises your bill. Larger teams can talk to us about an Enterprise plan.

For three surveys a year, a per-user plan is likely enough. If you ask thousands of People every quarter, counting answers works against you.

Sending a message when a score is low

SurveyMonkey can post complete responses to a Slack channel in real time. Filters let you post only the responses that match an answer you choose 3. With a filter on the score question, that works as a low-score alert.

In SurveyMonkey you build the survey, the Slack workflow and the filter, once per survey. In Pulseri the rule belongs to the program: a score under your line sends a message to the channel, and a person can follow up.

A team picks a moment (a support ticket is closed), who to ask (any customer who contacted support) and where (by email), then sees the question. By default, the same person gets at most one survey like this a day.

By default nobody is asked more than once a day.

Asking the right person

A link can go to anyone. For People you know, a link cannot tell you who has been asked three times this month. Pulseri holds a record for each person and avoids asking the same one again during the quiet period. You choose who to ask by facts you hold, such as plan, team or sign-up date, and start a survey after an event, for example when a ticket is closed.

Where SurveyMonkey is ahead

SurveyMonkey covers more kinds of survey than Pulseri, from registration forms to market research 6. It suits researchers who write new surveys often. It lists single sign-on on its Enterprise plan 4, so check your plan if you need it.

Pulseri keeps a short list of survey types: NPS, CSAT, CES, and employee pulse (eNPS and ESAT). For a long research survey or a registration form, SurveyMonkey is the better tool.

When SurveyMonkey is the better choice

Choose SurveyMonkey if you run many different surveys, send them to people who are not in any list, or need researchers to share an account.

Choose Pulseri if you want a steady score from customers and your own team, each person asked at a good time, and your team told about a low score the same day.

Moving from SurveyMonkey

Keep SurveyMonkey for what it does well. For feedback you want to run all year:

  1. Export your responses from SurveyMonkey and keep the file safe.
  2. Add the People you want to ask to Pulseri, with the facts you use to group them.
  3. Ask the same NPS or CSAT question.
  4. Set a low-score rule and choose the channel that should hear about it.
  5. Send to a small group first, then widen it.

Pulseri does not import old scores. Mark the switch date on charts you share, and compare by date.
